this morning we dropped michael off at good ol' john wayne for the 6:30 am flight to seattle--the first of a many-legged journey to alesund, norway. since it seemed far too empty at home (sorry sierra) owen and i decided to hop on the 55 fwy instead and head out to nana and papa's in riverside. where else can you be greeted with hugs and fresh coffee at 5 am?

since we were already up and in need of more coffee we went to our favorite breakfast (and lunch and all things dessert) spot in downtown riverside. owen was sporting his new elmo sweater set (courtesy of nana ) and his hip naartje orange beanie (it's orange, mama bought that one) and papa wanted to get some pictures for a new watercolor painting. since owen doesn't do the "sit down and say cheese" pose we got plenty of owen toddling and tipetoing around main street. here are a few of my faves for an already owen-sick daddy:
