update: well we were able to fool some of you, but most will be happy to hear that there is no new job in Norway, and we will eventually be back in California (hopefully).
We decided to take a 3-day drive around Norway, and started out from Alesund on Sunday, made it to the town of Molde. The highlights included Owen's first ferry boat ride, some long tunnels, the Atlantic Road , and a very cool hotel. enjoy the pictures.

Oh Fiord, Fi-ord! What a great ferryboat ride - perfect sunny day, flat water. And, that bridge, and hotel - strange, unique architecture - it fits wonderfully in the land of winter...
Hey, I'd say go for the new world: the mossy roof, the woodsy surroundings, the natural everything! When Owen grows up he can call you "Prop" instead of "Pop"! Maybe after 30 years of work, Rolls Royce gives you one of their cars instead of a gold watch!
Grandpa is out of the hospiyal now; diagnosis was enphysema. He had an emphysema attack! After his lungs were cleaned out, he's been eating very well, walking around without getting tired, and just feeling great. Sounds like they got it right this time!
We're finishing up the downstairs bathroom with new fixtures, paint, ceramic counter-top, etc. Looks good! Had dinner in Bellevue with Kerry, Carolyn and girls, Hans and Jenni to celebrate the end of Jen's 8 years of school. Mariners start their season today against Oakland, and my vacation is going fine because I bought a new lawn mower.
Have a great time with Cara'a parents - keep the blogs coming...
Love Gan-paw
Ok, so Owen in the little knit hat is just about the cutest thing ever! It looks so beautiful there.
