an apology of sorts

i've found it difficult to do much posting lately. . . not that there isn't much going on here; in fact it seems we're always going and going and that's perhaps it. but the truth is i'm just counting down weeks--setting and resetting the timer for michael's trips home while owen counts "how many sleeps" until daddy comes home. the good news is that we only have three trips left and then we'll just have one big family countdown-- my last day of class is june 5 and then we're packing up the fam and heading out to sweden until mid-july. my parents are going to come visit for a week and i've been busy helping them plan their trip--booking hotels in copenhagen and stockholm with stops in malmo and helsingborg--but i hadn't really connected their travels with ours. they'll stay with us in karlstad for the week and we'll travel from uppsla and to gotenberg with them but i realized sweden is irrelevant as a destination. i'm just looking forward to that single room where we all snuggle together in two twin beds pushed together watching movies on my laptop and where i worry neither about students nor the 91 freeway. i'm fond of poached eggs, potatoes and ham; i'd prefer to only buy as many groceries as i can hang on the back of the maclaren; and i think speaking english is overrated.

I had to laugh out loud when I read that you prefer to buy as many groceries that you can hang on the back of the maclaren. I have so done that so many times in England, every other day going the grocery store. Thank goodness I had a kid so I could at least use the stroller (a maclaren too) to store stuff.

i realized when i wrote this we're going back without a stroller and i'm not quite sure how we're going to lug stuff around!
